Everything that ultra-low-cost carrier Ryanairdoes is centered around the idea of reducing operational costs as much as possible. Ryanair, which pioneered the ultra-low-cost airline operational model, thrives by offering passengers fares that significantly undercut those of full-service network carriers, an element of the airline’s financial strategy that has remained the same for decades. While in the United States, low-cost carriers can offer tickets that are around roughly 10-20% cheaper than full-service competitors, Ryanair is routinely able to offer ticket prices that are less than a third of what full-service network carriers would charge.
