A Taiwanese advanced jet trainer in the Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) AT-5 Brave Eagle had an airplane crash on February 15 off Taiwan’s east coast and after taking off from Chihhang Air Base in southern Taitung. Both Honeywell/ITEC F124-200TW turbofan engines failed, forcing the pilot Major-in-Training Lin Wei to bail out, who was safely recovered.
