WA regional fare subsidy to continue into 2026

The Regional Airfare Zone Cap (RAZC) scheme will receive another $4 million in funding, allowing it to continue into the middle of 2026, a move which follows a successful three-year pilot program.

The 767 was retired from passenger duty in 2014 but the Flying Kangaroo kept one to fly freight services. It comes as the airline begins its biggest overhaul of its domestic, international and cargo aircraft in a generation.

The three-times-weekly service will initially operate via Singapore, but the carrier plans to turn the route direct when it takes delivery of longer-range aircraft.
