Seniority & Schedules: Do Pilots Have A Say In The Routes They Fly?

Regardless of one’s line of work, a defining feature of the desirability of a job is the quality of life it affords. Most airline employees have what could be understood as conventional jobs insofar as they leave home and return to it on a daily cycle. In-flight workers are the exception to this rule and an outlier in the greater workforce. Leaving home for days on end and spending consecutive nights in hotel rooms spread across a country, continent, or even the world is an assumed part of being a pilot.
