Korea’s Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) indigenous fighter jet, the KF-21 Boramae, has achieved not just 1,000 sorties but also 1,000 mishap-free sorties, according to a November 29 statement by the Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration. With the KF-21 halfway through necessary test flights for system development, the Koreans are on their way to developing late fourth-generation fighter jets to replace Korea’s F-4 Phantoms and F-5 Tigers.
