South African wireline and wireless telecommunications provider Telkom has suspended plans to sell part of its fibre business, Openserve, according to a statement by CEO Serame Taukobong this week.
Vodacom pledged to invest ZAR435 million (US$25 million) into the Northern Gauteng Area of South Africa this financial year to meet growing connectivity demand.
South African telco Vodacom said on Thursday it will invest around ZAR100 million (US$5.5 million) to build 106 new base station sites in deep rural areas of KwaZulu Natal, which will bring connectivity to hundreds of thousands of people in those areas.
