The United States Air Force recently dropped its largest bunker-buster bomb on underground Houthi targets using the B-2 Spirit bomber in combat for the first time in seven years. That bomb, the Massive Ordinance Penetrator (or MOD), is only carried by the B-2 Spirit (although the B-52 Stratofortress and B-1 Lancer also have the heft to carry it). That attack on the Houthis was likely a warning to Iran. Since then, an article appeared in the Jerusalem Post asking whether Israel’s F-15 Eagles (called F-15I Ra’ams in Israel) could be retrofitted to carry the bomb.
