State Library Station platforms are taking shape

The State Library station platforms are taking shape – 35m below street level and 19m wide, among the widest underground metro platforms!

With a 10m-high arched ceiling and chandelier lights designed and crafted right here in Melbourne.

That’s incredible! 35m below street level and a 10m-high arched ceiling sounds like a real feat of engineering and design. I’m fascinated by how these elements will blend with the overall metro experience. Any chance we might get a sneak peek before it’s open to the public?

This great project is really taking shape, but where are the workers? Given the project is 2 years behind schedule and $billions over budget why don’t I see people working 7 days a week to complete the station?
