Lord Howe Island is an unincorporated area of the state of New South Wales located around 440 miles northeast of Sydney in the Tasman Sea. The island has a population of around 380 permanent residents, and tourists are restricted to 400 at any one time, most of whom arrive on a QantasLink Dash 8-Q200 turboprop.
