Guam is an organized, unincorporated territory of the United States, and is the largest and southernmost island of the Mariana Islands as well as the westernmost point of US territory. Guam’s Andersen Air Force Base is seen as one of the most strategic US military bases in the world and is vital to the US Air Force’s ability to project power in the region. Its not just the United States Air Force, the civilian airline, United Airlines, also has a very large presence on Guam (at Guam International Airport).

Remember last year when Air France-KLM announced that it would be acquiring a nearly 20% stake in SAS? Once things became clear that the deal would go through, it was announced that the Scandinavian carrier would be hopping from Star Alliance to SkyTeam overnight – from August 31st to September 1st 2024.
