Naval Air Station Jacksonville (abbreviated NAS Jax) is one of the largest naval air stations of the US Navy, although it is much smaller than bases like Norfolk and San Diego. The station mostly includes Boeing P-8 Poseidons and MH-60 Seahawk helicopters, but also includes some other Navy aircraft. The US Navy (with the Marines) can be considered the world’s second most powerful air force. The combined services operate around 3,300 non-trainer and non-drone aircraft (the US Air Force operates 5,000).
