Back on January 20th of this year, a United Airlines pilot was detained at Edinburgh Airport (EDI) as he was found to be carrying a stun gun in his carry-on luggage, an item that is illegal for an individual to possess under UK law. The individual in question was determined to be Ryan Cecil, a 56-year-old captain, who was stopped by security personnel as he was attempting to board a flight to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) that he would be in command of.
