Victoria’s population surpasses 7 Million people

For the first time, there are more than seven million Victorians.

New data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics suggests that the state’s population has surpassed the milestone number, recording an annual 2.7 per cent growth rate.

The population sat just shy at 6.959 million in March, with demographer’s projecting it passed seven million in early July.

Overseas migration is the biggest contributor to recent growth according to the quarterly ABS data.

Now why are we hell bent on lambasting government projects that provide metro rail services, namely the Suburban Rail Loop, when we are now over 7 million people and accelerating toward 8?
