Train operator South Western Railway (SWR) and Network Rail Wessex (NR Wessex) have begun cracking down on ‘short-faring’, which involves passengers paying for a ticket only for part of their journey rather than for the full distance they travel.
Train operator ScotRail has achieved a record for passenger journeys in a single week, with more than 2.1 million trips being taken in the week from Sunday 26 July to Saturday 1 August.
