ScotRail has revealed that close to 8.5 million passenger journeys were made on its services in July, almost 900,000 more than during the same month in 2025.
ScotRail and Network Rail Scotland have made preparations to ensure that Scotland’s railway services are ready to support the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, which get underway this week.
New figures show that the number of people travelling by train continues to increase, with ScotRail recording more than seven million journeys in June.
