Shortsea operator Samskip has added the Port of Blyth to its network. The Rotterdam headquartered operator has launched a new weekly container service connecting northeast England with its home port in the Netherlands and onward into Europe.
Smart Green Shipping (SGS) has successfully completed sea trials of its wind-assisted propulsion system, FastRig, and its performance modelling tool, FastRoute.
The initiative was raised in a debate at the Scottish Parliament involving members of the former coalition government of the Green Party and the currently minority ruling Scottish National Party.
