The world's largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380, remains a joy for pilots, passengers, and aviation enthusiasts who enjoy spotting airplanes. While the quadjet may not be ideal from an operational viability standpoint, a handful of large airlines continue to use the aircraft on some of their most coveted routes. The aircraft performed its maiden flight on May 7, 2006, in Airbus colors.

On April 3rd, Emirates reintroduced another Airbus A380 to service. The specific airframe was A6-EDF, which is about 19 years old and nearly double the average age of the carrier’s superjumbos. Its return to service saw an initial round-trip service between Dubai and Cairo. While it was the seventh A380 ever to be built, it was the sixth A380 delivered to the Gulf carrier; those that arrived sooner have since been retired or stored.
