A China Airlines Boeing 777-200F reached a top speed of 826 mph last week over the Pacific Ocean. The aircraft was operating flight 5116 from Taipei to Los Angeles on January 25th, when it was able to take advantage of strong tailwinds. As reported by The Washington Post, flight 5116 completed the 7,205-mile journey in 10 hours and 18 minutes – resulting in an average speed of over 700 mph.
