Poland is examining the future of its 3 kV DC railway electrification system. Infrastructure manager PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PLK) has prepared a programme extending to 2045 that includes introducing 2×25 kV AC traction power and preparing selected existing main lines for re-electrification. The proposal could eventually bring Poland closer to the conversion programmes already underway in Czechia and Slovakia.
