The Municipality of Naples in Italy has awarded Hitachi Rail a €200 million contract to supply 22 new generation trains for Line 6 of the Naples Metro.
Passenger train services have begun on the new ‘Line 6’ Metro in Naples, which is using signalling from Hitachi as well as new rolling stock in the future.
Hitachi Rail has completed a €1,660m acquisition of Thales’ Ground Transportation Systems to expand its global presence to 51 countries.
