The Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies will get a new Executive Director starting next year. Christine Stockhammer-Kostelka has been elected to the position earlier this week. She will succeed Alberto Mazzola, who has led the organisation since 2021.
Stockhammer-Kostelka brings over twenty years of experience with her, writes CER. She has worked as the Head of EU & International Affairs at Austria’s operator OBB and headed external communications at the company. Before entering the rail industry, she held political and communication roles in Vienna and Brussels, including at the European Parliament.
In her new role, Stockhammer-Kostelka is tasked with representing the interests of CER members in European institutions and other stakeholders. “With upcoming EU decisions on investment, competitiveness and transport policy set to shape the conditions for rail for years to come, CER has an important role to play in bringing together the interests of its members and translating them into clear and effective positions at European level”, Stockhammer-Kostelka commented.
