In its latest Domestic Airline Competition in Australia report, the consumer and competition watchdog said jet fuel prices were nearly 50 per cent higher in late August 2026 than in February 2026 due to the Iran conflict, but both Qantas Group and Virgin Australia had solid full-year earnings.

At present, Emirates offers a staggering 11 daily services to 3 London area airports! That includes 3 daily A380 services to Gatwick and 6 daily A380 services to Heathrow. Incredible! Now, it looks like things WILL change in the future as Emirates re-balances its aircraft with anticipated demand. Part of this will see the A350 deployed to Gatwick.
