In its Australian Aviation Network Overview report for July 2026, Airservices said the Australian aviation industry has entered Financial Year 2026-2027 with “resilient demand and steady economic conditions despite ongoing global uncertainty”.
While total ground delays were up 33 per cent during the month, most of these were due to weather issues including crosswinds at Sydney and low visibility events in Brisbane and Melbourne, and just two per cent were attributable to Airservices.
The airport in northern NSW will be moving to controlled airspace with the construction of a “digital tower” next year, which Airservices says is part of its plan to foster “sustainable aviation growth” while modernising airspace at regional airports….
