Turkmenistan Airlines is one of the least familiar international airlines around today. The state-owned carrier operates a broad network of over 20 destinations, flying to notable cities like Beijing, Dubai, Frankfurt, London, Istanbul and Milan. It is also an unusually difficult airline to fly, as it doesn’t sell its international flights through mainstream booking sites, does not offer online check-in, does not serve alcohol, and asks passengers not to take photographs onboard.
