Four consortia bid for Port Polska rail hub

A Siemens-led consortium will replace ageing signalling and interlocking systems across 560 kilometres of Romania’s rail network. The programme covers 66 stations, 122 level crossings and more than 2,000 signals.

He succeeds Frank Werner, who will remain with the company as Head of Logistics Concepts until the end of July before retiring.

The authorities emphasise that the measure does not involve privatisation, as both the infrastructure manager and the transport operator remain fully state-owned.
