A freight train fault has resulted in the suspension of the Seymour and Shepparton lines.
The fault occurred today between Wandong and Heathcote.
Coaches are currently replacing trains on both lines between Craigieburn and Seymour.
Passengers are advised to board metro services from Southern Cross to Craigieburn and then board replacement coaches between Craigieburn and Seymour to complete their journey.
Transport Victoria’s signals team is monitoring conditions along the lines and will adjust traffic lights to assist with coach movements.
Motorists are asked to be vigilant for extra pedestrians and coaches around train stations.
Services will resume when recovery operations are complete, and it’s safe to do so.
