A fresh investigation is now underway into Australia’s anti-corruption chief.
Outgoing NACC boss Paul Brereton is the subject of a second probe by the commission’s inspector.
Inspector Gail Furness told Senate estimates she began the investigation in April.
She said the complaint was received earlier and was not linked to her first inquiry.
The investigation process is still ongoing, with submissions from Brereton yet to be completed.
Journalist Tom McIlroy reported the matter as scrutiny intensifies ahead of Brereton’s retirement in July.
The case adds further pressure on the outgoing watchdog chief during a sensitive transition period.
