Foreign Object Debris or FOD is a menace to all jet aircraft – whether the F-35 fighter jet or a 737. Recently, a lost flashlight caused an F-35A of Luke Air Force Base on a maintenance ground run to have a $14 million engine damaged beyond local repair.
