The United Firefighters Union of Australia – Aviation Branch (UFUAV) said the sale and leaseback proposal would “effectively privatise” Australia’s aviation rescue firefighting (ARFF) service, a charge which provider Airservices Australia rejects.
Melbourne–Perth flights will operate five times per week, while Perth–Adelaide services will fly three times per week. This is the first time Rex has flown between Australia’s east and west coasts.
