EgyptAir plans to increase its US operations significantly. As identified by Aeroroutes, two additional routes are scheduled: Cairo to both Chicago O’Hare and Los Angeles. While it’ll be the first time that Chicago has seen the Star Alliance member, EgyptAir last served Los Angeles in 2001, when flights operated via New York JFK. The brand-new Airbus A350-900 will be be flown to Illinois and California.

On April 3rd, Emirates reintroduced another Airbus A380 to service. The specific airframe was A6-EDF, which is about 19 years old and nearly double the average age of the carrier’s superjumbos. Its return to service saw an initial round-trip service between Dubai and Cairo. While it was the seventh A380 ever to be built, it was the sixth A380 delivered to the Gulf carrier; those that arrived sooner have since been retired or stored.
