American Airlines just put a new micro-route on its map. Starting on February 14, American Airlines’ regional affiliate American Eagle began to operate flights between Miami International Airport (MIA) and South Bimini Airport (BIM) in the Bahamas, the carrier’s shortest post-pandemic flight. The last time that American flew something shorter was when it operated service between Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Allenton Airport (ABE), a service which was cut in 2020 and replaced with a bus.
