Parents Question Drag Performer at Sydney Christmas Tree Lighting

The free City of Sydney Christmas gathering in Martin Place on Thursday featured Santa, markets, choirs, and a drag act among its entertainment.

Liz shared her concerns on 2GB radio the next day, upset about children as young as two seeing the performance. Some called it adult entertainment unfit for kids, while defenders noted drag’s place in family Christmas pantomimes and urged inclusion.

The council highlighted its events’ aim to reflect diverse communities amid the complaints.
