Is The US Really Buying 81 Broken Soviet Fighter Jets From Kazakhstan?

Did the US just purchase 81 broken old Kazakhstan Soviet-era jets for Ukraine? There is a story circulating online that the US has purchased these aircraft to be used for parts or as decoys for Ukraine. However, the Kazakhstani government quickly denied the reports, and the US DoD hasn’t commented. If true, it would be a major shift for Kazakhstan, which has been a traditional Russian ally, but it’s also possible the sale hasn’t happened. Regardless, this wouldn’t be the first time there have been reports of the US supplying Soviet-era jets to Ukraine.
