What MiG Fighters Does Russia Still Use?

The Soviet aviation company, Mikoyan and Gurevich Design Bureau (MiG) or , in Russian made many of the most iconic Soviet aircraft of the Cold War. Today, it is part of the consolidated United Aircraft Corporation (which includes Iylushin, Irkut, Sukhoi, Tupolev, and Yakovlev). While the Soviet Air Force relied heavily on MiG, the backbone of the successor Russian Air Force is dominated by Sukhois (particularly the Su-27 Flanker family). Still, the Russian Air Force continues to operate a family of MiG fighters – namely MiG-29s (and derivatives) and MiG-31s.
