Libs’ gala axed after flood of cancellations linked to leadership coup

A $1300-a-head Victorian Liberal Party fundraising dinner set for November 29 at Crown Palladium has been dumped after a flood of cancellations following Jess Wilson’s appointment as the new leader.

Everything the Liberals do at the moment shows that unity is a huge issue. Whilst they keep fighting amongst themselves they are not a credible opposition. Any wonder voters are turning to alternate parties.

Former Liberal Leader Brad Battin has been treated horribly! Channel 9’s Tom Steinfort asked “What was Brad Battin doing wrong though? Why did you get rid of him?”

Liberal Leader Jess Wilson “Brad was doing nothing wrong…” Then on Sky News “Brad has done a terrific role”. Then why tear him down and humiliate him?

Three Liberal leaders in 11 months. For Brad, he is the second shortest Liberal Leader with just 326 days in the job!

  1. This is a tragedy for all of Victoria.

A good man was rolled – for daddy’s little girl.

Because the Liberal Party is filled with empty virtue.

Just look at the nothing of substance interview.

    Labor wins again.

    Terrible.

  2. He was rolled because he wasn’t controllable.

This is classic Liberal Party factional warfare, driven not by voters or grassroots members, but by the corporate-lobbyist wing of the party who treat the Liberal brand like a private ATM.

    Let’s be crystal clear:
    Battin had momentum.
He was closing the gap on Labor.
He was leading as preferred Premier in several polls.

He had the Liberals in front for the first time in years.

And what did the Liberal Party do?

They stabbed him in the back the moment he became a threat to the system.

Because Battin was dangerous, not to Victorians, but to the rent-seekers who feed off government subsidies, net-zero contracts, and taxpayer-funded “green” projects that never deliver anything but bigger power bills.
    The timing exposes everything:

Last week, the Federal Liberals were forced by the Nationals to abandon net zero.
That sent shockwaves through the corporate class, the people who’ve made billions off the “renewables gold rush.”

They couldn’t let someone like Battin, a former cop, a small business owner a man with real-world experience and actual common sense, ever get close to the Premier’s office.
Because he would pull the plug on their gravy train.
