U.S. Congress Passes Epstein Files Transparency Act Mandates Release of Jeffrey Epstein Files

The U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act, in a 427-1 vote, with Republican Representative Clay Higgins of Louisiana casting the sole opposing vote, requiring the Department of Justice to release unclassified records related to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking investigations, prosecutions, flight logs, communications, and death.

The U.S. Senate approved the bill by unanimous consent without amendments shortly after, sending it to President Donald Trump for signature, whom he has indicated he would sign.

The legislation allows Attorney General Pam Bondi to redact or withhold materials involving victims’ privacy, child sexual abuse content, active investigations, or national security, with requirements for congressional notifications and public justifications for any redactions.
