Universal Pictures is developing a direct sequel to the 1999 and 2001 ‘The Mummy’ films, with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in talks to reprise their roles as Rick O’Connell and Evelyn Carnahan.
The project, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence, ignores the 2008 third instalment and aims to revitalise Universal’s classic monsters lineup.
