A former president of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, who was also member of Alfred Health’s ethics committee, warns a policy to give Aboriginal patients priority care is a major breach of medical codes of conduct.
This is response to a recent admission by St Vincents Hospital they priortise aboriginal patients for emergency care over and above non aboriginal persons in desperate need.
The position is also being reviewed at the Federal Government level over potential breaches to funding arrangements. It goes from bad to worse for Jacinta Allan and her government, poor decision making at every turn.
The fact Jacinta Allan applauded this position by St Vincents Hospital further highlights how she is completely disconnected from the people of Victoria.
No one should be supporting medical apartheid in 2025.
