One fateful night on 24 February 2022, peace in Eastern Europe was shattered as Russia launched its Full-Scale Invasion of Ukraine. The Western world was quick to rally behind Ukraine and moved to impose many crippling sanctions on the Russian industry and other sectors. Russian aircraft were soon banned from European, American, and other skies, but other countries like Turkey remained a lifeline and transit hub for Russians seeking to travel outside of Russia. In the course of the conflict, Turkey has militarily aided Ukraine while continuing to welcome millions of Russian tourists. However, according to recent reporting by Russian media, Turkish Airlines has recently been denying Russians boarding bound for Latin American countries without providing a reason.
