Raptor Logistics has acquired its near neighbours, D&M Logistic Solutions. The merger expands and combines their Felixstowe-adjacent operations in Suffolk, England. Confirmation came from Raptor, who will now bring on board the portfolio D&M, a well-regarded UK freight forwarder, in a move that strengthens the company’s presence across Suffolk and its footprint in the UK logistics sector.
D&M Logistic Solutions, based in Ipswich, has built a reputation for handling “special cargo” with precision and reliability. The company markets itself as an expert freight forwarder, capable of navigating the complex demands of global logistics across multiple modes of transportation. Its specialist knowledge made it a trusted partner for UK and international traders.
Build something really great
The takeover brings significant operational benefits for Raptor Logistics, which is already active in Felixstowe and Stowmarket through its divisions, We Ship Global Forwarding and We Prep E-Commerce. The deal also adds 75,000 square feet of storage to Raptor’s network and increases its workforce by up to twenty employees, effectively almost doubling its current staff.

“With our three sites in Felixstowe, Ipswich and Stowmarket, hopefully we can attract the talent in the industry to work with us,” said Fred Benfield, the owner of Raptor Logistics. “We hope to employ a lot more motivated people who want to build a career in a proactive, forward-thinking group of companies. We have a strong foundation to build something really great. Our business is a pure people business.”
Importance for port and logistics operations
The acquisition is particularly significant in Suffolk, home to the Port of Felixstowe, the UK’s busiest container port. Both Raptor and D&M are strategically located to support freight forwarding, warehousing, and e-commerce logistics that link directly to Felixstowe’s container throughput. This consolidation is likely to enhance efficiencies in storage, handling, and distribution of goods, particularly for clients with complex or high-value cargo.
Some confusion has arisen due to a separate logistics company operating in Pakistan under the name Raptor Global Logistics. However, the UK-based Raptor Logistics Group is entirely independent and unrelated to its Pakistani namesake. Several smaller companies also share variants on the name. Industry observers stress that the UK group’s growth strategy is firmly focused on domestic operations in Suffolk and neighbouring regions.
The acquisition positions Raptor Logistics to expand its service offerings and attract new talent in a tight labour market for logistics professionals. Analysts suggest that the combined capabilities of the two companies could enable further investment in automation, e-commerce fulfilment, and integrated supply chain services. For UK freight and logistics operators, the deal signals continued consolidation in the sector, with companies leveraging both people and infrastructure to maintain a competitive advantage in a growing and increasingly complex market.
