On October 16th, a United Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 flying from Denver to Los Angeles had to make a dramatic diversion after a Foreign Object Debris (‘fod’) strike caused the aircraft’s windshield to crack. The impact of the object was so hard that it resulted in injuries to one of the pilots.
