Trump Hosts Zelensky at White House After Putin Call to Advance Ukraine Ceasefire

President Donald Trump welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the White House on October 17 for talks on Ukraine’s defenses and peace negotiations amid Russia’s ongoing invasion.

Following a recent 2.5-hour call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump proposed an armistice along current battle lines and rejected Zelensky’s request for advanced weapons like Tomahawk missiles, emphasising diplomacy instead.

Trump reiterated his claim of ending eight wars, though fact-checks indicate the assertions exaggerate his involvement in various ceasefires and de-escalations.

  1. elensky is the issue, he makes more money being a president of a country at war than he does with a peaceful end.
