Passengers are being treated for minor injuries after a V/Line bus plunged 2.5 metres down an embankment in Victoria’s south-east, prompting a high-angle rescue.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Fish Creek-Foster Road in Foster, 170 kilometres south-east of Melbourne, just before noon.
A Country Fire Authority spokesperson said three CFA units were at the scene alongside Fire Rescue Victoria.
“Upon arrival, crews found a bus sitting on angle, approximately 2.5 metres down an embankment,” the spokesperson said.
“Crews are currently stabilising the bus using a rope system.”

The 9:02 Southern Cross to Yarram bus was carrying 11 passengers at the time of the crash.
Victoria Police said all 12 people on board, including the driver, were rescued.
Those with minor injuries were treated by Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

A V/Line spokesperson said it was working with emergency services to understand what happened.
“The safety of passengers and staff is our priority and we are working with emergency services following a road incident at Foster,” the spokesperson said.

Uninjured passengers were transported to nearby Fish Creek to continue their journeys.
