Russia’s Aeroflot is planning to order 90 Yakovlev MC-21 narrowbody aircraft by the end of 2025, according to the Russian state-owned news agency TASS. The news comes as the country’s flag carrier seeks to drive growth amid a heavily sanctioned environment following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. At present, Aeroflot has 198 MC-21s on order, according to ch-aviation data.
