Syria has signed roughly $4 billion in deals in efforts to revive its aviation industry through the reconstruction of its main airport in the capital, Damascus. In addition, the country has pledged nearly $250 million to finance up to 10 Airbus A320s that will serve to nearly double the national carrier’s fleet. The demand that Syria will be able to capitalize on – at least in the interim – is sky-high.
