The transatlantic US-Europe market is one of the most lucrative air corridors in commercial aviation, as well as being one of its most fiercely competitive. Additionally, many flights beyond Europe also cross the transatlantic, including to the Middle East and Africa. The ‘Big Three’ US airlines – American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines – all operate extensive transatlantic networks to Europe and beyond.

At present, Emirates offers a staggering 11 daily services to 3 London area airports! That includes 3 daily A380 services to Gatwick and 6 daily A380 services to Heathrow. Incredible! Now, it looks like things WILL change in the future as Emirates re-balances its aircraft with anticipated demand. Part of this will see the A350 deployed to Gatwick.
