Queensland-based FlyFreely, which is also cleared to operate in Australia and New Zealand, has been granted approval by the Federal Aviation Administration to operate as part of the Low Altitude Authorisation and Notification Capability.
Finnair will stand down 36 pilots from September 2025 to at least May next year, it confirmed in a statement, amid ongoing industrial action by its pilots’ union that has thus far been unable to reach a resolution.
The defence prime said the news meant all major risks had now been identified and resolved, and its system interfaces were sufficiently mature.
