Australia’s eSafety Censorship Commissar has been accused of using research to mislead Aussies about the social media ban for under 16s.
Julie Inman-Grant repeatedly refused to release the full study but sky news got it through FOI.
The results are damaging to her credibility imo. It in fact, found that YouTube was one of the safest platforms for key risk concerns such as grooming, sexual harassment and bullying.
Children are more likely to be bullied via text messages than on YouTube. X, the platform she keeps taking to court (at taxpayer’s expense), didn’t even appear to be included separately.
It is time for the commissioner to resign, she has not achieved a single outcome to the benefit of Australian’s and has only made a problem worse.
