Earlier this week, Romania confirmed that it would be acquiring 18 General Dynamics F-16 ‘Fighting Falcon’ fighter jets from the Netherlands for the token sum of €1 ($1.17). The country serves as something of an unlikely hotbed for the type, as it houses the European F-16 Training Fighter Center in the city of Fetești. Romania’s Defense Minister confirmed the deal at the recentNATO Summit in The Hague.
