Despite a solid finish to 2023, global seat capacity will reach around 5.543 billion, 3.7% below 2019's full-year capacity, although it will be about 17% ahead of 2022. For much of 2023, Southeast Asia was lagging well behind most of the world's markets, and it is now the region furthest from recovering to pre-pandemic levels, still 19% behind 2019 seat capacity.
